Sun seasoned means being found perfectly dried as a dead tree. It is full of the gift of time, the gift of the markings of time, the dying back and the impact of sun and rain , heat and cold, water and wind.  It feels thus wise and knowing, and  strong and impervious to judgement and external impact. It significantly reminds the player to reflect and internalise these qualities and to remember that aging is both a blessing and a beautification. There is so much light in the golden wood grain and the bloodwood and grub patternings and there is so much power  created in the tapering shape and the large resonating hole.

With sun seasoned didgs you also often get imperfections but whether a crack or grub hole, the fact that this  tree has survived for often several years or decades with so little damage in the dying explains why a crack or a small hole is a non event. Also most cracks in a sun seasoned didg are not the cracks that come from an expansion line within the didg that moves completely through to the outside but  rather are exterior cracks that are not  ever a functional problem. Further to that we  seal the inside anyway with 2 part epoxy resin so again I suggest to not look at these imperfections as areas of concern but rather  another beautiful part of its story. To me these didgs are faultless and what seems to be imperfections are another reason why it is a gem
