Force of nature, gift of nature,  the love of nature; well certainly a wonder of nature! Such an amazing healer didg this is, it is chunky, big holed, light and so boomy, warm and resonant.

What is a healer? It’s a didg  whose sound resonates and reverberates into the listener and the players bones, into the watery cellular nature that we are. Sound travels across water, one can test this by playing next to an area of water, whether a lake, river or pool.  It sounds across the water more powerfully than across  land where the sound slows across grass for example.

Why can whales hear over thousands of kms? Sound travels through water and we are made up of mostly water. Early morning or evening the didg sound travels better also because there is more moisture in the air. A thin walled open holed didgeridoo is more resonant and expansive.  The sound flows, spirals and bounces within  its walls more responsively and its volume is increased. In a larger holed didg there are more harmonics going on, layers of sound resonating at different frequencies.

You then can add the energetic or spiritual  qualities of a didgeridoo, a hollow tree that somehow is destined for another life as an instrument, the spirit of this tree gifting back again, in support of our journeying.  This is further empowered also by the conscious awareness of this in the maker and artist, instilled in the care, crafting and the art.  These elements conspire in all didgeridoos but some just seem extra rare. It’s thus natural to see this as  a very special didgeridoo ‘being’,  it is somehow palpable and powerful.
