Raw & Real & Ready

Raw, as in a hidden gem, only 1kg and 167cm long and with 16cm diameter bell.

Real, as in this was ready to be a didg, or die at the hand of the next storm perhaps.

Termites & tree live in symbiosis, until termites win either via storm or a  didg finder.  They can live together for years, decades or centuries  but some trees have minimal sap wood in which case termites can if over zealous eat right up to close to the outside of a tree, making the tree vulnerable to risk of breaking. Trees where this occurs are often in particularly rugged areas and they are doing all they can to survive.
NOTE – Termites eat out the dead heart wood and leave the living white sap wood just under the bark.
NOTE 2-There is a fallacy about termites hollowing trees out that they weaken the tree. The truth is the right amount of termite activity and hollowing makes the tree stronger in their ability to be strong and flexible in the way they handle storms and wind.

Similarly this didg is light but has more strength than one can imagine. The beauty is that you can even hold this didg  one handed and play while you move around.

This super hollow bloodwood didg is an incredibly resonant deep toned C#, accentuated  or magnified by the large belled end, and suitable for any players level of experience.
