Rainbow Serpent dreaming speaks to the  fertilising  forces of life  and the energy or magnetism as it flows across the earth  from one pole to the other, connecting place to place and creating a web of  interconnectedness.   It is the intelligence as to how mountain ranges and valleys, plateaus and deserts, wetlands, lakes, rivers and creeks, continents and oceans, interact with currents of water, wind heat and cold. All living things play a part and us humans have a responsibility to sing up, give life to the songlines of physical landscape and celestial bodies and the songlines of water and air.  As Mandaway Yunupingu from Yothu Yindi once said,  in his lecture ” New love songs for an old land” we all can  sing love songs to the land, we all can find our way to send love across the land. This is the Rainbow Serpent dreaming.
When I shifted my awareness back to this didgeridoo, I just had a wave of  shivers flow through my body.  You and I are the micro of all that is and can similarly send  or open to love songs moving across the landscape of our body and being. The medicine of this didg is opening to and  consciously interacting with  the power and our power of love and intent. Mob for thousands of years have known their place, their role in singing up and helping connect living beings and places. We all no matter our ancestry are called to play our part. This didgeridoo is a friend  on that journey.

Note- This is  one of a handful of collectors burnt artworked didgeridoos from Old Man Pierce. This was done at a time when time was generously given and respected.  A fuller story will come with this didg upon purchase. I don’t know anyone who does this work anymore. A short part of the story is  that for many years I collaborated with this elder whose sister also did some of this work but since his passing a decade back, I now have access to only some of this work that I kept and only now am opening to them finding new homes. Luckily this and 3 others came back into Heartlands fold plus I have 3 others on the site. Together they represent some of the most special didgeridoos  I know of, for reasons of the quality of the work and the spirit of the family they came from. Some of my fondest memories  in my Heartland journeys were the to and fro collaborations, and the humour and humbleness  that came with our interactions.  I learnt a lot  about what is truly important and not rushing anything of value. This website I hope  is imbued with the spirit of this families presence.”
