Adapt, respond, react,  symbiosis, synergy, concurrence, reciprocity, coaction, unity…. Ways of describing this didgs superpower. As a response to the  termites eating out its centre and the hole getting bigger and bigger, more torsional strength is created by  many internal  expansion lines forming with extra sapwood around those lines, such that on the outside they appear as ribs or akin to our achilles.  If the outside was sanded back  through the bark and sap wood they would appear as cracks and we too easily  judge as  a weakness but if left with how nature created this tree with its inherent torsional strength they in fact produce an incredibly strong didg. an amzing collectors didg with playing qualities to match.
Note- some didg  tree types, the bark in the curing process will eventually peel off  and in others the bark becomes even more glued to the tree. This smooth barked Malle is the latter and thus why this didg will continue to respond to weather and time with its superpower of torsional and reactive strength.  Didgs like this look the same way they look now in decades to come. I have 3 personal didgs about  35 years old and  they still look the same as they did when I cut them.
